Wild Side is the third and final installment in Silver’s Rose Hill Series. The novel is preceded by the titles Wild Love (2024) and Wild Eyes (2024). All three of the Rose Hill novels take place in the small Canadian town of Rose Hill, situated between Vancouver and Calgary. Secondary characters recur in each book. For example, Wild Love traces Ford Grant Jr.’s and Rosalie (Rosie) Belmont’s love story. These protagonists are either related to or close friends with characters Weston (West) Belmont, Skylar Stone, Rhys Dupris, and Tabitha Garrison, all of whom appear in Wild Eyes and Wild Side. Each book acts as a standalone novel but also functions as a part of a wider fictional universe. The Rose Hill Series is also loosely connected to Silver’s preceding Chestnut Springs and Gold Rush Ranch Series—characters from these small-town romances reappear in the margins of the Rose Hill titles.

In Wild Love, Silver introduces the Rose Hill world and its primary characters and conflicts. In this seminal title, Ford Grant and Rosie Belmont rekindle their childhood crush when they both move back to their Rose Hill hometown. Rosie is trying to recollect herself in the wake of the sexual violence she experienced in the workplace. She doesn’t expect to become involved with Ford, to develop a connection with his daughter Cora, and to create a family life with them. Wild Love is a second-chance romance and gives Ford and Rosie the opportunity to reconnect as adults.

In the series’ second novel Wild Eyes, country music star Skylar Stone flees her life in Los Angeles, California when she discovers that her manager and producer own the rights to all of her music. She moves to Rose Hill so she can work with Ford (owner and operator of Wild Rose Records) on recording a new album. Through Wild Rose, she also Rosie and Cora, both of whom come to play essential roles in her Rose Hill community. Meanwhile, Skylar rents a room from West, the enigmatic, handsome horse trainer. Over time, Skylar starts spending time with West, his horses, and his two endearing children. Like Wild Love, Wild Eyes explores how small-town life can help the individual heal and change. Skylar and West’s romance softens both of their hearts and offers them the opportunity to create a new family structure.

The series’ final installment, Wild Side, traces the enemies-to-lovers romance of Tabitha and Rhys. Both Tabitha and Rhys appear in the margins of Wild Love and Wild Eyes, as both are friends with Ford, Rosie, West, and Skylar. In Wild Side, Silver develops their mysterious and unlikely relationship, again conveying how small-town life and unexpected family dynamics can transform the individual.

The Rose Hill novels present three distinct love stories but possess narrative and thematic overlaps. Some of the scenes (for example, those set at the bowling alley) recur in each of the novels but are written from different characters’ perspectives. All three of the romances surround renewal and healing, parenting, and family.
