This pool follows the inner arc of the narrator's transformation — the losses and revelations that broke her before the story begins, and the ones that slowly rebuild her during it. It traces the deaths that defined her: her mother, the tarantula kids, and most devastatingly, her companion Circe. These memories return piecemeal as she writes, unlocked by small sensory triggers like the smell of coffee or the sight of a dragonfly. Her relationship with Lucía provides the emotional counterweight, offering sacred moments of connection — a firefly, a first kiss, a shared truth in a hollow tree — that dismantle the Sisterhood's hold on her. By the end, the narrator has reclaimed language, memory, and mercy, and Lucía's final three words confirm what no doctrine ever could.
