Koti is the long-suffering maid at Big House. She works hard to support herself after her abusive husband abandoned her and took her savings. She creates sacred art on the ground to ward off bad luck and quietly endures regular insults from Ammayya.

Alan was Maya's Canadian husband and Nandana's father. His romance with Maya during her university studies led her to cancel an arranged marriage, making Alan the unspoken focal point of Sripathi's nine-year fury. He died in the same car accident as Maya.
