Psycho Shifters is the first of six books in Jasmine Mas’s Cruel Shifterverse series, published between 2022 and 2023. The series is structurally divided into two interconnected trilogies, each following a different protagonist through an expanding multiverse of realms. Recognizing this architecture helps readers understand how the first novel’s unresolved tensions and mysteries function as narrative groundwork rather than loose ends.

The opening book in the first trilogy (Psycho Shifters, Psycho Fae, Psycho Beasts) follows Sadie’s transformation from abused servant to alpha warrior, her fraught relationships with Jax, Cobra, and Ascher, and the looming threat of the fae queen, culminating in Ascher’s betrayal and the group’s capture. Psycho Fae transports the characters to the fae realm, where they are forced to compete in gladiatorial games and discover that their homeland has been misrepresented to them. Psycho Beasts relocates the narrative to Serpentine City in the beast realm, where Cobra’s criminal lineage forces the group into mafia-controlled trials as they attempt to solidify their bonds.

The second trilogy (Psycho Academy, Psycho Devils, Psycho Gods) shifts perspective to Aran, Sadie’s best friend, whose true identity as the fae princess Arabella is revealed at the end of Psycho Shifters. Psycho Academy follows Aran disguised as a male student at a supernatural war academy, introducing three new love interests known as the Kings. Psycho Devils pits Aran against Sadie and her mates in the brutal Legionnaire Games, and Psycho Gods concludes both characters’ arcs. This dual-trilogy structure means that seeds planted in Psycho Shifters, particularly Aran’s concealed identity, the fae prophecy, and the realm’s hidden geography, reach fruition across all six volumes.
