Unmarried and patient, she provides Spencer with emotional support and unconditional affection as he adjusts to his return. She experiences vivid dreams concerning the alternate version of Spencer.

The Ghost is an entity occupying Spencer's childhood home, manifesting as the American businessman Spencer might have become had he never left for Europe. This figure prowls the empty rooms of the manor, representing the decisive, active life Spencer avoided. The presence exudes a strong will and a forceful personality.

Mrs. Muldoon is the housekeeper responsible for maintaining Spencer's ancestral home. She is the only person, aside from Spencer and Alice, who is allowed inside the building. She carries out her practical cleaning duties while remaining detached from the heavy memories occupying the house.
