We Chase Shadows

We Chase Shadows is the second installment in the We Solve Murders series, which follows the investigative exploits of a uniquely assembled trio of private detectives. The series is built on the dynamic between its three protagonists: Rosie D’Antonio, a glamorous, world-famous novelist who bankrolls the agency; Amy Wheeler, a former close-protection officer with elite combat and surveillance skills; and Steve Wheeler, Amy’s retired police-officer father-in-law. The first novel, We Solve Murders (2024), establishes the formation of their unlikely detective agency. As the novel opens, Amy, who is serving as Rosie’s personal bodyguard, goes on the run after being framed for the murders of a series of social-media influencers. She teams up with Rosie and Steve, and the trio travels the globe to track down a criminal mastermind named François Loubet who recruits influencers to smuggle money internationally. After catching the real culprits and clearing Amy’s name, the trio starts a brand-new private detective agency called We Solve Murders

As We Chase Shadows begins, the agency is still in its infancy and struggling to find its first case, creating professional and personal tension among the leads. Amy, a woman for whom “danger is [a] hobby” (9), misses the action of her old life and is itching for a real challenge.
