In Palm Springs, Tommy walks through the extreme summer heat while on a loud, profanity-laced phone call with his friend Ken. Although he sounds furious, this is his normal way of speaking. He defends a decision he already made to buy from the Irish rather than his contacts in Spokane, Washington. As he walks, Tommy is aware that a black Lincoln Navigator is following him. When the vehicle parks 50 yards ahead, he feigns ignorance but subtly buttons his suit and tightens his tie in preparation.
At Vern’s villa, Amy, Rosie, Steve, and Vern debate what to do with Korbin’s frozen corpse. They agree that they must contact the police, but Rosie uses the threat of reporting to the local Lucca police as leverage to get Vern to agree to come to England and stay at her estate. Only once Vern agrees does Rosie agree to call Ernesto instead. Steve reports to the group that Tony’s attacker had bleached blond hair, and the others connect this description to the figure seen on Vern’s security footage near the time of Korbin’s death. Lee, the sole surviving bodyguard, enters and pours ice into the freezer, explaining that the protruding knife is preventing the lid from closing properly.
